‘Paranormal Activity II’ vs. ‘Saw VII’ this Halloween- PA II wins it no contest….
Saw was a great idea, once or twice. But VII times? Especially after the last one, that anti insurance, Obamacare commercial they released in 2008 lol. Now Paranormal Activity II?, oh yeah I’ll see that. Lots of room there for more story. We lobbied HARD to get PA in wider distribution. See our many posts on PA here.
Paramount is committed to meeting the Oct. 22 release date for “Paranormal Activity 2,” which pits the sequel directly against “Saw VII 3D.” Move sets the stage for one of the biggest Halloween B.O. battles in recent times.”Saw VII” has already tried to bloody “Paranormal 2″ once. Kevin Greutert was circling to direct “Paranormal 2″ when Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures exercised an option requiring Greutert to direct the seventh installment in the “Saw” franchise.
“Paranormal 2″ didn’t get a director until just last week, when Tod “Kip” Williams inked a deal to helm the pic. Williams is new to the horror genre, having directed indies “The Door in the Floor” and “The Adventures of Sebastian Cole.”
That left some wondering whether “Paranormal 2″ would indeed be ready by Oct. 22.
Insiders involved with the film say that still leaves plenty of time to shoot and edit the sequel. Par and filmmakers are currently casting.
It’s unlikely the sequel could shoot in eight days, like the first “Paranormal Activity” — but the quickie shoot set a precedent for low-budget pics with high expectations.
“Paranormal Activity,” produced for roughly $15,000, became a runaway hit at the box office following an innovative viral-marketing campaign, grossing $107.9 million domestically and $84.8 million internationally for a worldwide total of $192.7 million.
…”Paranormal” grossed $21.1 million against $14.1 million for “Saw VI.” (full opening weekends I guess? MiM here – and how much did they spend making Saw VI?)
The next “Saw” will be the first in the franchise to play in 3D, which could give it an edge, though the last few installments have seen progressively lower B.O….
GOP raises $1.5 million with ‘Fire Pelosi’ moneybomb…
yowsa. Obamacare passage certainly helped raise money for those of us against the travesty…and I know many Dems like myself who have not given money to the DNC since 2008, methinks business donations are drying up. I guess they will have to srong arm those who still pay to play twice as hard..
Dear Gina,We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your contribution the Republican National Committee’s ongoing campaign to Fire Nancy Pelosi. Our Fire Pelosi Money Bomb raised more than $1.5 million. That’s money that will be used to help elect at least 40 new Republicans to the House of Representatives and remove the gavel from Nancy Pelosi’s hands.
Your contributions are going to make the difference this fall, and what you’ve done has already had a tremendous impact. All too often moments of individual heroism go unrecognized, but so important is the work that you are doing to defend the integrity of the U.S Constitution that we felt we must express our gratitude.
The Republican National Committee thanks you for your contribution, and we look forward to working with you in the future. We are proud to stand with you in the continuing fight for our freedoms.
Sincerely,
The GOP Action Team

Obama to Double Down – tells NBC Cap and Trade and Amnesty are next, regardless of GOP opposition (or that of the people)…
They are taking us off a cliff. Clearly the demonization of the Tea Party as racist is deliberate to shut us up as he rams ahead full speed. I know the GOP didn’t like the Big Dawg, but WJC LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE. He SIGNED welfare reform. He moderated to comply with the will of the people.
Obama is doing what I expect any malignant narcissist with daddy issues would do – he is pushing ahead because he ‘knows best’ despite the opposition of the majority of the country and half the legislative branch.
We need to have EPIC WINS in November, completely wipe out the seats of the Democrats, because clearly they have broken our ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ as it were, lol.
The one where they give a flying frak about what the people want as demonstrated in polling and, you know, ELECTIONS (see Scott Brown, MASS, NJ, VA, and in a few short months national elections).
I have no doubt at this point he is going to try and ram through cap and trade and amnesty in the lame duck session. And I expect some impeachment action from the GOP when he does.
Since the GOP was mortally offended by Big Dawg’s lie about a bj, I want to see this passionate defense of the CONSTITUTION against a POTUS who acts like the man who would be king…
(PS Obama is doing more to rehabilitate Big Dawg ain’t he? betcha the GOPers cannot BELIEVE the difference b/w WJC and BHO huh? one is radical and ignores the Constitutional limitations of his office, and one had pecadilloes. THIS is what a person ruling without consent of the people looks like.)
THIS is what a POTUS looks like who is impeachable. Someone who ignores the will of the people. Is he there yet? No.
But if he carries out what he said in this NBC interview, then IMO that is what impeachment is for, an executive who disregards the will of the people. I’m no historian, or ‘constitutional law professor’ HA!! but I am confident John Locke, Rousseau and Thomas Hobbes would agree.
PS message for Juan Williams. Hey dude, the NH ‘Dont Tread on Me’ Flag has jack sxxt to do with radical militias AFAIK. It is a Tea Party Patriot expression of our RIGHT TO BE GOVERNED WITH CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE. It is part of our founding history.
Again, I am a 24 yr Democrat, registered D for 24 years, never miss an election, and I would PROUDLY fly that flag! In fact I am going to order one!
President Barack Obama said Tuesday that he would not be dissuaded from taking on new economic challenges after his healthcare reform victory, despite the prospect for continued Republican opposition.
“I will continually reach out to Republicans. I will continue to incorporate their ideas, even when they don’t vote for the ideas that I’ve presented,” he said in an interview with NBC’s “Today” show. “But what I’m not going to be dissuaded from is us going ahead and taking on these big challenges that are critical in terms of America’s long-term economic health.”
The president said specifically that it was important for Congress to move ahead with legislation on energy and immigration policy as well as financial regulatory reform.
“On each of these issues, I’m going to actively seek Republican support. But there are going to be areas where we disagree and I will continue to maintain a tone where if they’ve got good ideas I’m going to take them,” Obama said. “But if we disagree, then we’ll fight it out on the floor of the Senate and the House.”…
He said ‘fight it out’ there lamestream media. Get it? It is a Constitutional, political fight for our way of life, he has said it. He will not be deterred he says. Stop blaming us for being defensive, we will speak, FREELY, PASSIONATELY, WITH LOVE FOR OUR COUNTRY. And we will use our VOTES and our VOICES to take a stand.
and we can always GO GALT if they refuse to listen. Good luck spreading the wealth when none of us ‘earn’ anything for you to tax, lol.
Housing: Prices continue to fall – Las Vegas plunges another 17% y/y…
Not a single, solitary reason that Harry Reid deserves to keep his seat. Vegas is in even worse shape than Phoenix and continues to fall like a stone while he fraks around with Pelosi’s wish list:
…S&P’s David Blitzer called the report “mixed,” noting, “The rebound in housing prices seen last fall is fading.”
Prices in 10 major metropolitan areas were flat in January from a year earlier, while the index for 20 major metropolitan areas dropped 0.7% year over year….
…Compared with a year earlier, Las Vegas continued to be hit the hardest, 17% lower than a year earlier. Month-to-month gainers, sans seasonal adjustment, were headlined by Los Angeles and San Diego showing slight improvements, while all the other markets showed a decline. Four markets — Charlotte, Las Vegas, Seattle and Tampa — reported new price lows for the current cycle.
At this pace we may have to begin calling Vegas, Detroit West.
