The polls are open until 7 p.m.Also, we are celebrating election night at the State Museum on Gervais Street in Columbia. We hope you can join us as our movement becomes a reality.

Market Mover Tuesday: Existing Home Sales Drop 2.2% (forecast was a RISE of 5.5%)
The big number is tomorrow, the drop in new home sales, post dopey homebuyer tax credit which pulled 2 million purchases forward, that’s 2 million less first time homebuyers to move on new housing in the months ahead…
…The National Association of Realtors said sales fell 2.2 percent month over month to an annual rate of 5.66 million units from an upwardly revised 5.79 million-unit pace in April.
Analysts polled by Reuters expected May sales to rise 5.5 percent to a 6.12 million-unit pace from the previously reported 5.77 million units in April….
AfPak: General McChrystal respects one Obama Admin member- Hillary
I hope General McChrystal doesn’t lose his job over this, but he knows Obama doesn’t have the mettle to stick it out in AfPak as long as we need to. God Bless the troops and the people of Afghanistan, especially the women.
The General revealed all we feared about Obama was true, he is over his head. One person got compliments in the Rolling Stone piece and it must have BURNED Rolling Stones’ axxes to have to print even a blurb:
Only Hillary Clinton receives good reviews from McChrystal’s inner circle. “Hillary had Stan’s back during the strategic review,” says an adviser. “She said, ‘If Stan wants it, give him what he needs.’ ”
TOTUS is over his head, out of his league and it shows:
The general first encountered Obama a week after he took office, when the president met with a dozen senior military officials in a room at the Pentagon known as the Tank. According to sources familiar with the meeting, McChrystal thought Obama looked “uncomfortable and intimidated” by the roomful of military brass. Their first one-on-one meeting took place in the Oval Office four months later, after McChrystal got the Afghanistan job, and it didn’t go much better. “It was a 10-minute photo op,” says an adviser to McChrystal. “Obama clearly didn’t know anything about him, who he was. Here’s the guy who’s going to run his fucking war, but he didn’t seem very engaged. The Boss was pretty disappointed.”

Moment of Political Zen: Gov. Chris Christie R-NJ and Mayor Corey Booker D-Newark promote CAP 2.5 legislation…
Update 2: the veto overide failure is up on the news wires
Update: More joy from Joisey- Kudlow is reporting the State Legislature’s attempt to override Gov Christie’s veto of the millionaire’s tax has failed. Good news for NJ job creation!
Governor Chris Christie joined by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and Newark Mayor Corey Booker make an announcement regarding the proposal to cap property tax increases to no more than 2.5 percent.
In the midst of the economic hurricane, leadership emerges – Gov Christie steps up to the plate with CAP 2.5 (our previous post outlining CAP 2.5 here) and Mayor Corey Booker, Democrat of Newark, steps up to support him. It MUST be done, there is no more money, the residents of New Jersey have nothing more to give. Labor has to step up and share the hits or close up shop and call it a day. Americans have had enough with labor’s overreach.
True Blood Season 4 announced!
Update: Looks like we will not be able to play the markets on MOVIES OR PREMIUM PAY SHOWS!! The Dems have killed the provision that would have grown the market action in a non harmful way. Frakkers.

awesome :0) and as far as my earlier query on trading futures on cable shows, as Cantor Fitz is doing with box office, it could be done, anything you can bet on that has a revenue stream and wont hurt society should be fair game in the markets ~ better we bet on True Blood than housing….
…The network released an announcement today that they’re picking the vampire series up for another season. Given the strong numbers the third season premiere pulled in, that’s not all that surprising.
“The new season of TRUE BLOOD is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics,” noted Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “We’re looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.”
Season three is currently airing on Sunday nights on HBO. According to HBO, Season Four will consist of 12 episodes and will begin production early next year in Los Angeles. It will premiere next summer (2011)….
