This is why we needed the fighter…

Twice in this election America was offered a choice between a fighter and a brand. Once with Hillary who would not give up, she is not a quitter. And once with MAC, a man who does not know the meaning of the word quit. Now the media who sold the brand seem to have developed a resistance to their kool aid fix and are wondering why all the fumbling  from Teh One..

Gee if only we had a fighter, someone who was ready on day one.

Or you know, someone with a track record of hard work and sacrifice, I remember two such candidates this Fall but the media and the Europeans seemed confident experience and guts and sheer perseverance (something Hillary and Mac demonstrated in their lives) were not a prerequisite to CiC.

And seeing how badly Team Obama is handling economic and diplomatic priorities it makes me shudder to consider what would happen in an actual critical physical crisis of some sort like a massive earthquake or pandemic..could he tear himself away from his plans for cap and trade or a cocktail party??

All the foreign money that poured into Team Obama unchecked. And here we are. Hope the Europeans are happy, they helped make Obamapalooza a success. From UK Telegraph via HA:

The American source said: “Obama is overwhelmed. There is a zero sum tension between his ability to attend to the economic issues and his ability to be a proactive sculptor of the national security agenda.

“That was the gamble these guys made at the front end of this presidency and I think they’re finding it a hard thing to do everything.”

The Democratic strategist stressed that Mr Obama’s plight was nothing new. “He knew it was going to be tough; he said as much throughout the campaign. But there’s a difference between knowing it is going to be tough and facing the sheer relentless pressure of it all.”

Gee if only we had candidates who had run who understood SHEER RELENTLESS PRESSURE.

“The one real serious flaw I see in Barack Obama is that he thinks he can manage all this,” the well-known figure told a Washington official, who spoke to this newspaper. “He’s underestimating the flood of things that will hit his desk.” A Democratic strategist, who is friends with several senior White House aides, revealed that the president has regularly appeared worn out and drawn during evening work sessions with senior staff in the West Wing and has been forced to make decisions more quickly than he is comfortable.

What he can’t vote PRESENT?? He has to choose, possibly make someone unhappy? Make a judgement call on his feet? Whoudda thunk it?

He said that on several occasions the president has had to hurry back from eating dinner with his family in the residence and then tucking his daughters in to bed, to conduct urgent government business. Matters are not helped by the pledge to give up smoking.

Again this is a surprise to whom exactly? CAN’T HE JUST EAT HIS WAFFLE?!!! WHAT DO PEOPLE WANT FROM HIM??LEAVE BAWACK ALONE!!!

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president’s surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

“People say he looks tired more often than they’re used to,” the strategist said. “He’s still calm, but there have been flashes of irritation when he thinks he’s being pushed to make a decision sooner than he wants to make it. He looks like he needs a cigarette.”

Another SHOCKAH!!! You have to think on your feet without sleep, you know like at 3AM…

The Smartest Guys in the Room Model PT II: “the elite journalists got it wrong”

Krauthammer and MiM aren’t the only ones seeing this theme…

Peter Robinson, Forbes:

A couple of implications here are worth noting. The first is that a deep, recurring pattern of American life has asserted itself yet again: the cluelessness of the elite.

Buckley, Gergen and Brooks all attended expensive private universities, then spent their careers moving among the wealthy and powerful who inhabit the seaboard corridor running from Washington to Boston. If any of the three strolled uninvited into a cocktail party in Georgetown, Cambridge or New Haven, the hostess would emit yelps of delight. Yet all three originally got Obama wrong.

Contrast Buckley, Gergen and Brooks with, let us say, Rush Limbaugh, whose appearance at any chic cocktail party would cause the hostess to faint dead away, or with Thomas Sowell, who occupies probably the most unfashionable position in the country, that of a black conservative.

Limbaugh and Sowell both got Obama right from the very get-go. “Just what evidence do you have,” Sowell replied when I asked, shortly before the election, whether he considered Obama a centrist, “that he’s anything but a hard-left ideologue?”

The elite journalists, I repeat, got Obama wrong. The troglodytes got him right. As our national drama continues to unfold, bear that in mind

Tea Party Update: OH – Saturday, March 14th and AZ Tax Day Tea Party planning underway….

OH update from Shots on the House:

Attending the Columbus Tea Party? Join the Facebook Event and invite your friends!

I’m proud to announce that I’ve been busily organizing a “Columbus Tea Party”, a grassroots event to protest Governor Strickland’s plans with the stimulus money, with the folks from the Ohio chapter of Americans for Prosperity. I just received final word that the permit requests are in, the organizing is well underway, and we can announce the following “official details” about the event:

Who: Americans for Prosperity, College Republican Groups, ShotsontheHouse.com, and grassroots activists from across the state of Ohio
When: Saturday, March 14th, 2009 at 11 AM
Where: Capital Square (The Statehouse) in Columbus, Ohio
What: A Tea Party Protesting Governor Strickland’s Stimulus Plans and Fee Increases
Why: Because the Governor’s plan is to take one-time money and dig us into a whole of future debt. The bad bill that came out of Washington is going to lead to bad policy here in Ohio, and we want to voice our dissent

With word out that our friends in Southwest Ohio will be holding an event on Sunday the 15th, we decided we’d push forward with a Saturday event in Columbus to really give the state of Ohio a shot in the arm. We’ll be looking forward to meeting tons of concerned Ohioans, who are encouraged to bring signs protesting the Governor’s plan to dig us into a bigger hole with stimulus money, protesting his fee increases, and protesting Ohio taking money from this moronic “econonomic recovery package” which has done nothing but send the market into freefall.

If you would like more information, feel free to contact me, or just watch this page, http://www.shotsonthehouse.com/teaparty for more information on this grassroots event. Bloggers like Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds have been covering tea party events across the nation, so stop by their sites, thank them, and enjoy their coverage. Also make sure to read up on what Americans for Prosperity is doing nationwide to fight this good fight. See you Saturday the 14th!
