SciFiWire: Twilight’s Rachelle LeFevre ‘stunned’ by recasting of her role in Eclipse…ComicCon Twilight Experience….

Racelle LeFevre in Twilight - click image for interviews from Collider with the entire cast of New Moon

wow, another boneheaded studio exec move. Again I ask WTH is wrong with these people?

SciFiWire:

A day after Twilight studio Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of Rachelle Lefevre with Bryce Dallas Howard in the key role of Victoria in the third movie, Eclipse, Lefevre broke her silence to Access Hollywood, saying she was “stunned” by the decision.

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,'” Rachelle said in a statement to the entertainment show.

Summit attributed the change to schedule conflicts.

Here’s the rest of Lefevre’s statement:

“I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities, and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to Barney’s Version is only 10 days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part. …”I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best.”

On Wednesday, Lefevre tweeted to her fans: “I am so touched by all your responses and feel incredibly blessed to have fans like you. From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU.”

Lefevre played the villainous Victoria in the previous two Twilight movies, including New Moon, which is due Nov. 20.

Here is a clip of the fans going wild at the Comic Con Twilight Experience Screening where the cast surprised the fans with an appearance, why would a studio mess with the fans in the midst of this success? stoopid:

Market on ‘Sugar High,’ Economy Still Asleep: El-Erian – CNBC.com

Vodpod videos no longer available.

CNBC:

The stock market spent July on a “sugar high,” rising to levels not justified by an economy that is still limping along, Pimco’s Mohamed El-Erian told CNBC. Despite proclamations from some that the recession is over, El-Erian, co-chief executive officer of the largest bond fund manager in the world, said much more needs to happen before the economy registers real growth.

“The July part of the rally is a bit of a sugar high,” he said in a live interview. “We need final demand. We need a feeling that deleveraging in the private sector has run its course, that people feel confident now to engage in consumption, investment.” It’s not happening yet on the national level, it’s not yet happening at the global level.”El-Erian stuck with predictions from various Pimco executives recently that the economy would be mired in gross domestic product growth of about 1 to 2 percent for the foreseeable future.”We’re not going to go back to where we’ve come from,” he said.

While the banking sector has taken much of the focus during the current recession, El-Erian said it’s now about the real economy, particularly wages and unemployment. Those two areas must recover, and that will take a while, he added.

ALERT: Blue Dogs roll AGAIN say they have a deal on health care…..per Fox…

frakkers.

Politico has it up:

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) has cut a deal to reconvene his committee and vote on the Democrats’ sweeping health care bill, with a goal of completing work by the time lawmakers leave town for the summer on Friday.

There won’t be a vote before the full House before the August recess, but the committee breakthrough – after tense negotiations with Blue Dog Democrats – is a significant step for the Democrats. …As a result of the deal, party leaders have agreed to put off a House vote until the fall, giving members more time to digest the legislation — and opponents more time to attack it.

The Blue Dogs also succeeded in cutting $100 billion from the overall cost of the bill, bringing the total price tag under $1 trillion. The legislation will now exempt small businesses with a payroll greater than $500,000 from paying for any government-sponsored health coverage – double the $250,000 in the initial draft. And finally, under the terms of the deal Ross announced, doctors and other health care providers will be allowed to negotiate their payment rates with the government-sponsored health care arm.
