Aimee Teegarden of Friday Night Lights makes a guest star appearance in LoTS S2.

BSC:

She tells E! that: “I’m going to New Zealand on Saturday to shoot a show called Legend of the Seeker,”

“It’s a crazy-long episode. A lot goes on. My character ruins a lot of things, but she doesn’t really mean to…I’m playing one of the last Confessors, named Annabelle,”

A casting call for the role from last month described the character as “18, beautiful, innocent, like a princess in a fairy tale.”

The second season of Legend of the Seeker begins airing on November 7th 2009.

Market Mover This Week: WH to release midyear update of FY’10 Budget Projections Friday 5:00pm…

They are going to try and bury the numbers.

The Corner:

…tune in to your favorite media outlets around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the preferred time for White Houses to release unpleasant news.

The mid-session update of the fiscal year 2010 budget projections, you see, is overdue. With federal tax revenues tanking and spending surging, budget watchers expect the news, whenever it is released, to be bad.

This is just my prediction, but what better time to release this information than late on a hot Friday afternoon in the middle of August? And you thought those town-hall meetings were hot now . . .

Update 2: 7:36pm – Oh cutting 8 jets down to 4..550 million down to 220 million..good grief….take frakkin Jetblue…lol Kudlow said it too…

Update 7:15pm EST: WSJ reports ‘House Leaders to drop funding for new executive jets’

what maroons.

They want the G5 baby….play ball…

Opposition is growing on both sides of the aisle to plans by Congress to spend $550 million for eight new Gulfstream and Boeing planes for senior government officials, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The newspaper quotes Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., as saying the planned purchase “is evidence that some of the cynicism about Washington is well placed — that people get out of touch and they spend money like it’s Monopoly money.”

Several other senators who plan to oppose the funding when the issue is taken up by the Senate in September include John McCain, R–Ariz.;  Jack Reed, D-R.I.; Richard Burr, R-N.C.; Kit Bond, R-Mo.; and John Thune, R-S.D., the newspaper reports.

The Journal says the funding was added to the Pentagon’s budget even though the Defense Department had not requested it.

Frakkers.

Horror: YGN – Thirst Review – Korean Vampires, Old Boy Style…

From YourGeekNews:

If you have a chance to track down a theatre playing this award winning Korean Vampire film from the Director of Old Boy, you will not be disappointed. Graphic and visceral in every way, Thirst, or Bakjwi, blew our minds with the realism that the story was grounded in, and the depths to which the characters could sink.

Paul Krugman thinks we just ‘need more stuff’…

And BTW, if you missed it, Paul thinks we are all racists too, though we may not know it…The deficit is exploding and we are hitting new records monthly but Paul wants to spend more.

I am guessing Paul is not a George Carlin fan, or he would know the LAST thing we need is more STUFF…

CNBC:

…More stimulus money is key for a sustainable recovery as fears of inflation are overdone, Krugman told CNBC.

“We really should have a second stimulus, we should have more stuff,” he said, dismissing fears of price rises as a result of too much cash in the system.

“I think that’s an old line from the great depression, that crying ‘fire, fire’ amid Noah’s flood. I mean, we have no signs of inflation on the horizon. There is nothing in there that would be inflationary.””You have to understand that putting money in the system, it mostly just sits there. It’s quite easy to pull it out again if inflation starts to loom,” he said….

The money in the system, ‘just sits there’ and it’s ‘quite easy to pull it out again’. Yuh-huh Paul m’kay. It will be EASY for the Fed to dump all the MBS it is holding and raise rates in the face of incipient inflation. Suuuuuure. The Fed that will be headed by Bernanke would do it I agree.

But we all know it will NOT be Ben, it will be Larry Summers, and he seems pretty wrapped around TOTUS finger…when he is awake that is….myself I am pretty sure the FED will be too loose for too long. We will have another bubble, it is the nature of the beast. We have stimulus spending not coming out of round one until 2010, methinks Paul wants to prevent the double dip that is coming to avoid losing WH and Congress between 2010-2012…

Tea Party Patriots: Austin, TX 8/9 Protest at the Capitol…

Courtesy of dumpdoggett:

On August 9, 2009, about 300-400 people gathered on the steps of the Texas state Capitol building in Austin, TX to protest the Obamacare bill.

The protest was not organized – it was passed word of mouth and those concerned showed up. Surprisingly enough, it came about because of a pro-Obamacare rally called by Organizing for America. They never showed up. Instead, only 5-7 pro-Obamacare supporters were there.

There were two doctors there. They both don’t support Obamacare and believe it will make the business of doctoring very difficult. All the doctors they know don’t support it. The one doc said he could always go back to being an engineer. The other one said he wasn’t going to give up without a fight. Both of them are not members of the AMA, which by the way only has a membership of about 1 in 7 of all doctors. One of them had 5 doctor friends that was canceling their AMA memberships over the support of Obamacare.

Congress and Mr Obama still want to ram this thing down the throats of the public and their taking names of those who dissent or spread fishy ideas.

Hello, Washington!! You’re out of touch with the regular folk.
