Wolverine Sequel – writer of X-Men tapped for new film…

x-men-origins-wolverine-20080227111118055

Good start with McQuarrie writing 🙂 Wolvie, Gambit and Rogue are my faves…Cannot wait for Deadpool...

MTVSplash!:

When Hugh Jackman told MTV News that some exciting people were attached to the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” sequel, we didn’t expect to find out about any of them this quickly—but some big “Wolverine 2” news has hit the wire!

…In a repeat of their “Wolverine” pairing, Jackman will produce the sequel alongside Lauren Shuler Donner. No stranger to the X-Men universe, McQuarrie was one of several uncredited screenwriters on the 2000 “X-Men” film, which he worked on alongside his frequent collaborator, director Bryan Singer. While McQuarrie’s attachment is certainly interesting on its own, what it could mean about a potential return to the franchise for Singer is also worth contemplating….

Will Bryan Singer be back as well?

…Back in May, the director told MTV News he “would love to return to that universe,” making a decision to rejoin Fox’s X-Men franchise that much more likely—especially with so many uncertainties surrounding a potential sequel to his most recent comic book movie, “Superman Returns.”…

zap2it:

…trades are abuzz with news that Hugh Jackman will return (and produce) for a second movie about comic-book character Wolverine….

The film ended with one of two teasers, depending on your theater: One showed Deadpool’s survival, and the other followed Wolvie to Japan, echoing a famous storyline in the comic books from the 1980s.

The second “Wolverine” movie would follow that plot, with the Marvel Comics superhero learning the code of the samurai. Chris McQuarrie, who wrote the first “X-Men” movie, has been tapped to write this one as well…

The low-budget horror film weaves four stories that take place on Halloween night. The film languished in distribution hell for a few years until festival screenings and film blogs helped resurrect it.

Update 2 : Demonstrators outside the townhall…TOTUS MT Townhall: One Hard Question…”Who will foot the bill?”

Courtesy of lovjohn

I am sorry but an NRA member says he is proud to be a member and of the Constitution and there ARE LIKE THREE PEOPLE CLAPPING?? IN MONTANA?? RU SERIOUS? Uhmm, weird huh? Were they given valium in their kool aide to keep the peeps docile? Just askin’ I would think more applause for NRA and for the Constitution in the West. I know in AZ, that questioner would have gotten a standing ovation from us…

Courtesy of PoliticsNewsPolitics:

At President Obama’s town hall meeting in Belgrade, Montana, Obama takes a question from Randy, a “proud NRA member” who says he gets his news from “cable networks”, to which Obama says, “be careful”. Skeptical about who will foot the bill for health care reform, Randy asks the President how he doesn’t expect to raise taxes on the middle class.

Obama says: “You’re absolutely right that I can’t cover 46 million people for free… We’re going to have to find money from somewhere.”

PS Insurance companies are NOT making record profts as he says here. He must be thinking of the primaries last summer and his tagline about oil companies record profits….and he talks about the cuts to Medicare Advantage which he plans to eliminate and which is Seniors’ favorite part of Medicare. That is IIRC 153 million, where is the other 80 billion a year coming from? He never tells us….

Update: Video – Glenn Beck commentary on the townhall after the break:
