On the Radio: Air America bashes TOTUS; Obama takes calls on Smerconish to bump health care plan…

A progressive says he is afraid Obama’s knees are getting weak and the best TOTUS has got is ‘they called FDR a socialist too?” ? Then he says it is a GOP conspiracy when he has both houses!? Oh boy. Imagine how the lady feels who sold her TV to avoid Obama only to hear him on her radio? lol, poor woman!

Update: Dylan Ratigan making lots of friends at MSNBC: termination of Ratigan, Brewer demanded after edited footage used to play race card…

Update: Glenn Reynolds links Megan McCardle who agrees shenanigans went on at MSNBC and Pajamas Media gives us contact info for MSNBC after the break..

McCardle asks Was There a Second Gunman in Phoenix? lol

,,,This is entering into the level of implausibility embraced by those who defended the Rathergate Memos.  Yet I’ve seen it stated as a positive fact in several comment sections.

But here’s how we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the footage was not of the protester’s white doppelganger:  you can see the CNN reporter in the MSNBC footage.  Yet that reporter makes it clear during the interview that he did not see the mysterious other guy who was identically dressed and armed, but possibly white.

There is no reasonable doubt that MSNBC cropped the guy’s race out of the video with some extremely weird editing.  I don’t know whether the anchor knew about it or not–I presume she didn’t–or why they chose to edit it that way.  But the evidence is pretty overwhelming that they did, and that at the very least, the anchor made some stupid and unwarranted assumptions….

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) hosting health care tele-town hall 8/23…

MiM has been invited to attend a tele-townhall with Sen.  Klobuchar on health care. But then she cannot see my awesome sign! She says she will try to take questions.  If you are a MN resident please take note:

As someone who has previously contacted our office to share your thoughts on issues important to you, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in a live statewide healthcare tele-town hall meeting this Sunday, August 23 rd , at 7:00 PM.

Along with people like you from across the state, I will be joined by Dr. Denis Cortese, CEO of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and Mary Wakefield, the highest ranking nurse in the federal government.  The three of us will discuss the need for health care reform, including ways to make the American health care system more affordable and more stable, and I will answer as many questions as I can from citizens from around the state.

If you would like to participate in this important discussion, the only way to guarantee your involvement is to visit our website at http://klobuchar.senate.gov or click HERE and enter your contact information.  Once you’re registered, you’ll get an automated reminder phone call on Friday evening and you’ll be called again on Sunday to be joined to the call.  The phone number you provide will be kept private.

If you have any questions, you can call the office toll free at 1-888-224-9043.

I look forward to hearing from you on Sunday.

Amy Klobuchar
United States Senator

Klobuchar’s ratings have been down..

Two weeks into the job, SurveyUSA asked Minnesotans if they approved/disapproved of his work so far as senator. The poll found 43 percent of adults approved of his job performance and 45 percent disapproved. For a net disapproval of 2. Yikes. Sen. Amy Klobuchar had a 54-percent approval rating, with 42 percent disapproving.

She recently hit a record low:

As a result of this apparent shift in public sentiment, Klobuchar has now endured the 4th largest drop in net approval rating since Barack Obama took office in January of this year among the 25 Senators tracked by SurveyUSA.

According to SurveyUSA’s latest round of monthly polling, Klobuchar’s approval rating fell from 62 percent in June to 54 percent in mid-July – her second lowest mark of her D.C. career, behind only the 52 percent she notched in a May 2007 SurveyUSA Poll.

Even more striking, 42 percent of Gopher State residents disapproved of the job Klobuchar is doing as Senator – her highest red mark ever and the first time that number has reached the 40 percent mark in her 2.5 years on the Hill. Klobuchar’s disapproval rating increased 35.5 percent in just one month.

Maybe she should take the time to see MN constituents face to face. Just sayin’

Tea Party Patriots: United Health Group joins the protests as Dems open ‘harrassment audit’ on insurers…

Scroll down for update

Finally. Sadly it took a direct threat from Waxman with his demands for proprietary information from the insurers to get many companies to realize their very existence is on the table now. AmericanPharma is deluded if they think they will be left alone and the deal they cut will be honored….

Disclaimer I have United Health through a group employer plan and I love it and my mom has it on an individual plan and she loves it too.

Update:  Politico is pushing United to disclaim everything, it has put out a statement. Basically United is not telling employees to go to Tea Parties, it is however outlining their position in case some do attend:

The United Health Group, a major insurer seen as playing the politics of reform better than most, is denying a report that it directed its employees to attend tea parties opposing the Democratic plans.

The insurance giant, with about 75,000 employees, confirmed another element of the report, however: That its employees’ talking points include opposition to a public option for health insurance.

TPM reported yesterday being told by a source that the company’s operators were directing  employees to protests against administration plans.

A spokesman for United Health, John Parker, flatly denied the anonymous source’s characterization.

“That’s absolutely categorically wrong,” he said. “We have never encouraged our employees to attend Tea Parties. The information we provide our employees is publicly available information about town halls sponsored by members of Congress…. The links that were provided [in the report] are not links that we provide.”

Parker said the company’s stance is “extremely neutral,” and provided the talking points circulated to employees, which advocate the insurance industry’s basic stance: An openness to “bipartisan” reform, but staunch opposition to a public plan...

Horror: ‘The Wolfman’ Official Trailer…

I love the classic Universal horror movies and I am psyched for this one!!!

Courtesy of sammiehajalie23

Release Date: February 12, 2010

Director: Joe Johnston

Starring: Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, Art Malik

Plot Summary: Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, “The Wolfman” brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.

As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself… one he never imagined existed.

Warehouse 13 gets renewed for Season 2 with 13 more episodes…

Kewl. I am really enjoying the show. It is like X Files meets the old Friday the 13th tv show about the cursed artifacts, but with more humor…

BuddyTV’s exclusive interviews with Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, and Allison Scagliotti at the EW / SyFy Comic-Con party in San Diego, CA.

Syfy has ordered a second season of Warehouse 13, its freshman series that follows two Secret Service agents who find themselves abruptly transferred to a massive, top-secret storage facility that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government.

Warehouse 13 has become the most-watched show in Syfy’s 17-year history, averaging 3.7 million viewers a week. It is also the number-one new series on Tuesdays this summer for adults 25-54, and it broke records when the fourth episode on July 28 delivered the most females (1.9 million) of any series telecast in Syfy’s history....
