Castle 2.12 ‘A Rose for Everafter’ guest starring Alyssa Milano airs Jan 11th…

Castletv.net:

When Castle and Beckett are called to a wedding to investigate the death of a bridesmaid, Castle is stunned to discover that the soon-to-be bride is his old flame, Kyra, “the one that got away” (guest starring Alyssa Milano). Complications ensue as Kyra, caught off-guard by Castle’s reappearance in her life, wonders if she’s marrying the right guy. With the nuptials forestalled and the entire wedding party under suspicion, Beckett questions Castle’s ability to be objective about the case. But when it looks to Beckett like Castle and Kyra might rekindle their romance, her judgment may be compromised as well.

The first season on DVD:

The novel based on the TV series now 42% off at Amazon:

A New York real estate tycoon plunges to his death on a Manhattan sidewalk. A trophy wife with a past survives a narrow escape from a brazen attack. Mobsters and moguls with no shortage of reasons to kill trot out their alibis. And then, in the suffocating grip of a record heat wave, comes another shocking murder and a sharp turn in a tense journey into the dirty little secrets of the wealthy. Secrets that prove to be fatal. Secrets that lay hidden in the dark until one NYPD detective shines a light.

Mystery sensation Richard Castle, blockbuster author of the wildly best-selling Derrick Storm novels, introduces his newest character, NYPD Homicide Detective Nikki Heat. Tough, sexy, professional, Nikki Heat carries a passion for justice as she leads one of New York City’s top homicide squads. She’s hit with an unexpected challenge when the commissioner assigns superstar magazine journalist Jameson Rook to ride along with her to research an article on New York’s Finest. PulitzerPrize-winning Rook is as much a handful as he is handsome. His wise-cracking and meddling aren’t her only problems. As she works to unravel the secrets of the murdered real estate tycoon, she must also confront the spark between them. The one called heat.

BSC reviewed the novel here, (I ordered it but have not read it yet):

Heat Wave is a media tie-in to ABC’s Castle, which stars Nathan Fillion as mystery writer Rick Castle, who is following around Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic)—his inspiration for the character Nicki Heat.  It is not a written version of the show but rather the book that Castle wrote after the first 12 cases he worked with Beckett (AKA, Season 1).  I have never read something like this tie-in before; hell, I’m not sure I’ve even seen something like it before, and I find it fascinating that ABC saw something in the show’s demographic that caused them to produce this novel.  It is a perfect complement to the show:  every detail that is references on screen is reproduced on the pages, from the dedication to the sex scene being on page 104 to the hilarious photo of Fillion as Castle on the back…..(go read the whole thing!)
