SciFiWire reports Joss has won!
…Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog on Saturday won the Emmy Award for short-format live-action entertainment programs, a first for creator Joss Whedon, whose only previous Emmy nomination was for writing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode “Hush,” which he didn’t win. True Blood: Michelle Forbes on Maryanne…
Our previous post on the stupendous career of Michelle Forbes here
Awesome exclusive interview with SciFiWire, go read the whole thing!!:
As the finale looms, the stage is set for one hell of a battle as the only good guys left in Bon Temps—including Sookie, Bill (Stephen Moyer), Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Andy—try to stop Maryann and her minions from carving the heart out of Sam so that Dionysus will finally appear. How it will all end Forbes won’t tell, but she does rank the character as one of her favorites.
“She loves her mischief and having her fun along the way,” Forbes said with a laugh. “She has a different understanding of the world and this particular plane. She doesn’t see an end in the road the way everyone else does, because she has no time constraints and no moral constraints. And in playing her it is impossible for me to see her as a villain.
But the same can be said of any character that I have played. Admiral Cain [of Battlestar Galactica], you could say she was a villain, but the beauty of Ron Moore’s writing is that there was logic in what she did and said. The thing about Maryann, too, is that the writers have always given her a beautiful logic in what she says. I just love the entire story. I had no idea where it was going in the beginning. I, however, especially with Maryann, really enjoyed the sense of not knowing.”…

Created by neal484
Woot! FOX press release:

DANIEL PERRIN (Denisof) is a U.S. senator leading a witch hunt to track down the underground organization. Mysterious, charismatic businessman MARTIN KLAR (Bamber) is Echo’s new husband. BRADLEY KARRENS (Hogan) comes to the Dollhouse hoping to stop a psychotic family member’s killing spree, while MATTHEW HARDING (Carradine), a nemesis of Dollhouse leader ADELLE DEWITT (Olivia Williams), stirs up trouble. Additionally, DR. CLAIRE SAUNDERS/WHISKEY (Amy Acker) and MADELINE/NOVEMBER (Miracle Laurie) return this season in multiple-episode arcs.

From this week’s Entertainment Weekly, highlights via DVRPlayground:
…We’re trying to do something that’s much more cinematic and visceral and really live inside the story,” he says in previewing the new season, which debuts September 24 at 9PM on FOX (Global in Canada). “This season, I’ve really ratcheted up the way I work. We’re shooting in HD, so we’re able to move faster, do more, and make the second season more like the latter half of the first season.”In other-words, “Epitaph One’ is just the beginning. “The insane unaired thirteenth episode will inform what we do the whole season. It really helped give us a direction and understanding of what we want from the actors, and what we think the audience wants to see from this ensemble.”
Epitaph 1, is the 13th episode only available on iTunes or on the DVD set…OR!! It is also available for $1.99 on Amazon Video on Demand gonna go watch it now the damn clips got me hooked….
Direction? Understanding? Yes, yes, that’s great and all but how about some answers dammit!
Not surprisingly, Whedon is somewhat tight-lipped when it comes to how in fact himself and his merry band of writers are going to live up to the ridiculously cool post-apocolyptic future that was painted in “Epitatph One.” But did offer, at a DOLLHOUSE set visit during the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour that the series will pick up exactly three months after the events of last May’s season finale, fans can expect more three-dimensional dolls and ” best of all” a special guest appearance by BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Jamie Bamber.
Mrs MiM here, did someone say Jamie Bamber?
Who won’t be the only familiar face this season. “Last year I had to be careful that it didn’t seem the show was a party for my friends,” explained Whedon, who ultimately changed his tune after a weekend spent at San Diego’s Comic Con, realizing that, yeah, it sort of is a party for his friends (see: Felicia Day, who will be back in the second season premiere) “Ultimately it also saves time if you have someone you know who can get the job done.”
So does that mean CASTLE star Nathan Fillion should be waiting by his phone? “I’m trying to sabotage the show, it’s not working, but I’m trying.”…
Mrs MiM again. Nathan? Mal? Did someone say something about Captain Mal?
