BSG: Caprica Review…
Based on the review I will NOT be ordering the digital download, I’m still pixxed at RDM and DE for that BS ending to BSG..WTH was that with Starbuck?! What a cop out that ending was…anywho here is what another fan had to say after watching Caprica, for THIS we lost Starbuck? Bogus man….
From a Lanie Grace commenter Scott:
A spoiled rich, angsty, teen drama queen is really a super genius that does what billions in research couldn’t: creates a viable AI. In her spare time that isn’t spent hanging out with the “one true god” cult.
“One true god” cult member decides to blow up train without letting her know, perhaps trying to spare us from any more of her screen presence. But no, we aren’t quite that lucky. Because we still have the Emo Princess avatar which is just as identically annoying in every way.
Then we have some unknown leaps in ill-logic after daddy discovers the Avatar, which you can interact with in virtual world so perfect everything seems real, but that isn’t good enough. It would apparently be much better to Hug a Giant Killer robot body. So he has Adama arrange theft (apparently crime lords will turn on their own friends if you simply agree to talk to someone they are going to have killed) of a chip which for some unknown reason is expected to be compatible with both the avatar software and the Killer Robot body.
Luckily we are spared that embrace because again for some unknown reason it all goes badly and robot falls down, goes boom. Mercifully daddy super computer genius also forgot about making a backup. Bye bye Emo Avatar?
But wait Killer robot is back and is really uber in his killage… and, Oh Noes!, it has angsty emo princess voice as it calls up cult member friend, presumably to go to the mall in next episode because all her old shoes won’t fit anymore.
I can’t wait for the next episode of “Emo Princess killer robot”: Shoe Shopping.

BSG: Caprica 2 hour uncut unrated Premiere on DVD in April…

PREQUEL The cast of the "Battlestar Galactica" prequel "Caprica" (L-R) Polly Walker, Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson, Writer and Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, Writer and Executive Producer Remi Aubuchon, and Executive Producer David Eick on stage.
From SciFi Wire:
Caprica, the highly anticipated prequel to Battlestar Galactica, will premiere exclusively on DVD on April 21 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, SCI FI Channel announced.
Wired has details:
Eick called the show “part sweeping soap, part meditation on the dangerous moral ramifications of artificial intelligence,” and promised a show “as daring and shocking as the best of Galactica — and yet … altogether different from Galactica.”
Releasing the DVD so soon after Galactica wraps its fourth and final season — and before shooting begins on the Caprica series — will give fans a say in how the new show develops.
“We wanted to give them a chance to see the pilot in its original form and experience the prequel to the BSG story while that series’ finale was still ringing in their ears,” said Mark Stern, Sci Fi’s executive vice president of original programming and co-head of original content at Universal Cable Productions. “It also affords the creative team an unprecedented chance to get viewers’ feedback before production on the Caprica series begins this summer.”
This from TVWeek is sort of ominous:
Meanwhile, Mr. Moore said “Caprica” won’t feature the same slam-bam action feel of “BSG.”
“This show is really nothing like ‘Battlestar,'” he said. “It has a completely different tone. I was attracted to (the idea of) doing a sci-fi show that wasn’t built on action-adventure.”
Hey I like action adventure!! We shall see, fingers crossed….
SciFi/Fantasy: True Blood, Legend of the Seeker, BSG Returns, Anite Blake update, the new Star Trek….
Tonight is the season finale of True Blood, the hit series based on the novels by Charlaine Harris. But don’t despair! SCIFI/Fantasy lovers have a plethora of entertainment awaiting them….
On the Fantasy front, there is a wonderful new series airing on broadcast television based on Terry Goodkind’s ‘Sword of Truth’ novels, Legend of the Seeker. Follow Richard and Kahlan as they fight against the corrupt empire of Darken Rahl…I have caught three episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them, the characters are true to the novels. (No surprise that friend to fantasy lovers everywhere Sam Raimi is behind this production.) Find it on your local channel at the website above and DVR this baby!
