Dylan Ratigan’s MSNBC move a big flop…
IMO anyone who moves TO msnbc is as big a tool as the rest of that diseased frat boy ‘network’. Shoulda stuck with Fast Money, where actual thinking viewers tuned in to see your rants Dylan. Now you are just one of many ranting, red faced creeps on a channel full of biased toolz…..
Our previous posts on Dylan and the move to MSNBC here
The new year is starting off badly for Dylan Ratigan, whose face time on MSNBC has been cut in half. The cantankerous pundit has gone from having the 9-11 a.m. slot to just one hour at 4 p.m., when ratings are lower.
“He’s pissed but has no other options,” said a source. “He came in and thought he would take over the network. He treated everyone in the office like his assistants.” But an MSNBC spokesman characterized Ratigan’s move as a promotion: “The show is being moved to 4 p.m. because we anticipate it will be a strong lead-in to ‘Hardball.’ “

Ahh the good ole’ days, back when Free Market Capitalism was a blessing not an epithet on The Hill, when Macke and Bolling were together and before Ratigan went all ‘Dark Side’ and fled to MessNBC
Update: Dylan Ratigan making lots of friends at MSNBC: termination of Ratigan, Brewer demanded after edited footage used to play race card…
Update: Glenn Reynolds links Megan McCardle who agrees shenanigans went on at MSNBC and Pajamas Media gives us contact info for MSNBC after the break..
McCardle asks Was There a Second Gunman in Phoenix? lol
,,,This is entering into the level of implausibility embraced by those who defended the Rathergate Memos. Yet I’ve seen it stated as a positive fact in several comment sections.
But here’s how we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the footage was not of the protester’s white doppelganger: you can see the CNN reporter in the MSNBC footage. Yet that reporter makes it clear during the interview that he did not see the mysterious other guy who was identically dressed and armed, but possibly white.
There is no reasonable doubt that MSNBC cropped the guy’s race out of the video with some extremely weird editing. I don’t know whether the anchor knew about it or not–I presume she didn’t–or why they chose to edit it that way. But the evidence is pretty overwhelming that they did, and that at the very least, the anchor made some stupid and unwarranted assumptions….
Gawker – The Rant that Explains Why Dylan Ratigan Left CNBC, plus a poll!
Finally, courtesy of Gawker, the audio :0)
Vodpod videos no longer available.
…The tape dates to last summer, when Susan Krakower, a CNBC executive and co-creator with Ratigan of Fast Money, dared to speak into his earpiece during a commercial break in the newscast. Ratigan didn’t like that…The New York Post reported on the exchange back in March, and indicated that Ratigan’s issues with Krakower were partially responsible for his decision to jump to MSNBC—after promising himself to ABC News as a negotiating tactic to get more money—in May.
Sounds like a fun guy to work with….
And a poll! As soon as I figure out how to put it in here, lol…Dylan’s new show started on MSNBC this week, it is up against The Call one of the only 2 CNBC shows I still watch (the other being kudlow)..
Here’s your question, has anyone seen it? No clips have appeared on Youtube yet…..
And just for fun, Dennis Kneale fighting with bloggers yesterday, lol, again Gawker has it:

Did Dylan Ratigan ‘screw over’ ABC? Is Jeff Macke leaving Fast Money next? Is MSNBC ready for Dylan?
Happier Days: September 18, 2006:
GAWKER says yes Dylan screwed ABC…
…Since loudly leaving CNBC in late March, Ratigan had been rumored to be going to ABC, perhaps to Good Morning America.
“In ABC’s mind, they had—and have—a deal with Ratigan,” says a source with knowledge of the negotiations. “This wasn’t a handshake deal. This was a deal deal. ABC got fucked, royally.”
…News of Ratigan’s departure from CNBC were accompanied by a leak to Page Six of a tape of him screaming at his producers: “I’m not going to host a fucking TV show that consists of reading fucking e-mails to fucking traders.”
More on that Page Six Audio:
…Page Six heard a tape of highly volatile Ratigan, who also co-anchors “The Call” and “Closing Bell,” ranting to a producer at a commercial break last summer: “Don’t ask me to talk about every [bleep]ing e-mail that comes up on the screen. I’m not going to host a [bleep]ing TV show that consists of reading [bleep]ing e-mails to [bleep]ing traders.” He then accuses Krakower of never addressing his concerns in private. “You know what, Susan, I’m in the middle of hosting a show right now, so now is an unwelcome time to hear your voice . . . If you want to pull me off the show, please do,” he roars. “[You are] rude and disrespectful. . . . You lie to me routinely.”…
Tell me they cannot possibly be SO STOOPID as to lose Jeff Macke now over at CNBC. Oh yeah I keep forgetting GE owned NBC tools:
…We’ve confirmed with multiple sources that Jeff Macke is indeed engaged in highly stressful contract talks with CNBC, and the network has indeed been limiting his airtime.
continues after the break…
Update: Icahn group says 2 of 4 dissident nominees have won Board seats….Carl Icahn seeks DE Court ruling to halt voting in BiogenIdec board elections…
Update: 3:29pm Mike Huckman reports Icahn group says they have won 2 of 4 dissident shareholder board seats….Alex Denner of Icahn Capital says the goal is not to break up BiogenIdec but to help the company execute..
A BiogenIdec spokesperson says results are still being tabulated and it is too early to speculate on results..
BIIB is up 1.03 right now…mhuckman is on twitter

Mike Huckman on CNBC has the scoop, he is at the shareholder meeting LIVE:
BiogenIdec declared the meeting and voting in recess until 200pm..they are keeping voting open!
Carl’s people say they have already won seats on the board with their dissident shareholder platform, and BiogenIdec is keeping the voting open and calling blocks of shareholders to try to get them to change their votes…shades of Indiana, Gary, Dem primary last year, or any Illinois election apparently, lol,…
Carl will have none of it, and this Whale is headed to DE court now to get I am guessing an injunction..
I love this kind of action :)), here is a Carl on FastMoney 9/08, love when Karen crushes on Carl, lol

Carl Icahn schools the crowd on CNBC’s Fast Money. This show was aired on September 19, 2008 – live in New York from the Time Warner Bldg overlooking Columbus Circle and hosted by Dylan Ratigan. This was a town hall style show, with guest Carl Icahn, discussing the future of Wall St. Quote: “…eventually you’re gonna have all MORONS running the company.” – Carl Icahn

Say It Ain’t So.. Dylan Ratigan moving to MSNBC….

Jeff Macke, Tim Strazzini, Dylan Ratigan, Guy Adami, and Eric Bolling of CNBC's "Fast Money", preside over the Market Open Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at NASDAQ's MarketSite in New York City.
UGH What a disappointment! Ugh! All this drama and he is STILL working for NBC Universal?! And at their WORST biggest JOKE lowest rated channel? The frat boy infested Tweety and Obotmann channel? Ugh, well I would cut my damn hand off before I give those POS a second of my time…sorry Dylan but bad bad choice
You know, not for nothing, but Dylan was having moments of sheer Jon Stewartness as in the Stewart Cramer ‘interview’ or ‘lecture from an uninformed comedian with delusions of grandeur’ as I call it..I miss Dylan and this is just sad…I think MSNBC is a home of narcissism and ego, sad to see him use his financial experience to help cheerlead the fascistic interference with private property and the individual…sigh…
I am really disappointed :0(
NEW YORK (AP) — Former CNBC “Fast Money” host Dylan Ratigan has landed a new daytime program at MSNBC.
Ratigan’s new show will air on the news network from 9 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time. MSNBC had few details about what it will be, other than a mixture of talk and news with a distinct personality.
It marks a continued shift away from actual news programming to more personality-driven shows on cable news networks. Ratigan’s show will start on June 29.
Ratigan’s move was a mild surprise, considering he had quit CNBC five weeks ago.
