WH to detail ‘Cash for Caulkers’ today…
Obama in GA today to announce details, but it hasn’t passed Congress..if you have a home and a job this is a nice program….of course the spending is not paid for that I know of and that BS ‘deficit reduction panel’ is lurking waiting to put the kaibosh on all of us with some crapulent VAT tax down the road so perhaps we could oh I dunno..stop spending until the crisis is over…this would have been fabulous as part of spendulus…constructioion jobs and all….
…Under the proposal, consumers who undertake straightforward improvements—insulation, duct sealing, water heaters, furnaces or air-conditioners, windows, roofing and doors— would be eligible for 50% rebates on that spending, up to a maximum of $3,000, according to details released by the White House.
More comprehensive retrofits would qualify for a $3,000 rebate for a whole home energy audit and subsequent retrofit aimed at annual energy savings of at least homeowners who achieve greater savings would come in for additional rebate amounts
