AZ Medical Marijuana Proposition 203 Passes

Update: Prop 203 has passed. All hail the AZ voters! Folks who think this will turn AZ into Cali should really read the Proposition. It was incredibly well written with thoughtful, strong limits to avoid many issues found in CA and CO.

...The final vote also confirmed that Arizona voters did approve a law allowing patients with a recommendation from their doctors to purchase up to 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana every two weeks from non-profit dispensaries. Supporters outnumbered foes by about 4,300 votes.

About Prop 203:

…The Arizona measure will allow patients with diseases including cancer, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and any other “chronic or debilitating” disease that meets guidelines to buy 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana every two weeks or grow plants.

The patients must get a recommendation from their doctor and register with the Arizona Department of Health Services. The law allows for no more than 124 marijuana dispensaries in the state. After ballots are canvassed Nov. 29, the state has 120 days before the law goes into effect.

Backers of Proposition 203 have argued that thousands of patients faced “a terrible choice” of suffering with a serious or even terminal illness or going to the criminal market for pot. They collected more than 252,000 signatures to put the measure on the ballot _ nearly 100,000 more than required….

…Arizona voters overwhelmingly approved a medical marijuana law in 1996 and 1998, but it never went into effect because of problems with its wording.

…Saturday’s final count was 841,346 in favor of the measure and 837,005 opposed….

Be the Wave 2010: ginaswo on El Rushbo

BE. THE. WAVE.

Thank to El Rushbo for the airtime, and  thanks to the morons and moronettes at AceHQ, esp. Clyde:

here is the transcript:

RUSH: To the phones we go. Scottsdale, Arizona, this is Gina. Thanks for waiting, Gina. I appreciate it. You’re up first.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. It’s great to speak to you but you’re killing me with the Reverse Operation Chaos this morning.

RUSH: How so?

CALLER: I’m a recovering Democrat, and I was a Hillary supporter, and I’m working My Butt off trying to get the GOP elected. I’m taking part in the BetheWave2010.com, that FreedomWorks and Ace of Spades HQ did where you can adopt your local candidate and try to get —

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: — people to come out and help, and I just think with the margin of cheating we need the recovering Democrats who will vote GOP. I don’t want them to stay home. I want them to come out and they’re gonna come out and utterly reject the Obama agenda. I think we’re going to have a tsunami. I don’t want them to stay home. (laughs) Please, come, vote GOP!

RUSH: Well, if you listened to the entire presentation Reverse Operation Chaos —

CALLER: Mmm?

RUSH: — it includes both options.

CALLER: Okay. All right. So you’re just encouraging people who were supporting Hillary but you think they might still be voting Democrat to not vote?

RUSH: Or vote Republican.

CALLER: Well, that’s what’s going to happen. I mean, nobody —

RUSH: Well, vote Republican. The key here… Look, psst? I mean, don’t tell anybody this, Gina. It’s just between us here.

CALLER: (giggles)

RUSH: But the point here is to get Democrats ticked off that Hillary got shafted.

CALLER: We’re there.

RUSH: All right. It’s to convince them the only way, the only way she has any chance is the Democrats have to go in the tank this election. Obama has said his agenda is on the ballot. It’s got to lose by landslide proportions everywhere.

CALLER: Right. Oh, it’s gotta be an epic fail so that they never, ever try this again.

RUSH: Right. Reverse Operation Chaos: Either don’t vote if you’re a Democrat — you know, be a Hillary potato.

CALLER: (bursts out laughing)

RUSH: Or vote Republican.

CALLER: But remember: In the ’08 primaries in Pennsylvania, Jimmy Hoffa, head of the Teamsters, said, “Oh, we’re going to have a big surprise for Hillary.” They could not get the rank-and-file to vote Obama then.

RUSH: Right. Well, but that was then and this is now.

‘Twas the Night before Elections’

40 days, the final push begins now :0>

Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

‘On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DON’T WANT SOCIALISM
GET your butt OUT THERE AND VOTE!!!!!!!!

I think I love you~ Gov. Chris Christie schools Whitman heckler at Rally

My Christie Crush is so bad now I hear the Partridge Family, I think I love you, whenever I see one of these Christie videos. ..

TheCorner:

…Christie was concluding a town hall meeting with Whitman when an angry audience member criticized her for not taking questions.

“What are you hiding?” shouted Ed Buck, in jeans and a light shirt in the front row of the 400-person event. “You’re looking like Arnold in a dress,” he said in a reference to outgoing California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Before Whitman could respond, Christie stepped down from the stage and got in Buck’s face.

“Hey, listen. You know what. You want to yell, yell at me,” Christie said, shutting down Buck as Christie’s bodyguards calmly but quickly approached the two men. “It’s people who raise their voices and yell and scream like you who are dividing this country. We’re here to bring this country together.”

Gov. Chris Christie schools another NJ teacher on elementary facts of the NJ education budget

CAN. NOT. GET. ENOUGH. OF. THIS. MAN.

Business Insider:

…the teacher accuses Christie of gutting the NJ education system, and Christie responds with a point-by-point explanation of how unaffordable NJ schools had become, and how modest the cuts he proposed were.

If you don’t want to watch the whole thing, skip to the final few minutes, when he addresses an email that was sent out by the head of the NJ teacher’s union praying for Christie’s death. His tone is just perfect, and he makes it impossible for viewers not to be on his side.

GOP ’12 (Romney?) Hillary ’16

yay yay happy dance woot and all that good stuff! I have been saying FOREVAHHHH that Hill will run in ’16, and here is Ed Rendell saying it! he knows the deal, yay yay, I predict Romney ’12/ Hillary ’16.

I would like to think the GOP will take the power we give them in ’10 and ’12 and turn it around, but I dont think Romney will have enough time and the GOP Congress has not in my lifetime done the ‘right’ heh, thing by the middle class except when paired with the Big Dawg.

So unless the GOP has a Tea Party enlightenment which some have, Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, though some dont like the label, unless we see a LOT more from them in ’12, then by ’14 I think the Indies will swing back to Dems, and by ’16 we will be ready for Hillary :0) I will keep donating to the GOP candidates like those who represent fiscal conservatism and embrace our individual liberties and small government and strong defense. But before the proverbial hat could drop, I would max out donating to Hillary. I believe in her and I believe that she believes in America.

I hope to get the chance to vote Romney ’12 and I have firmly believed I will get to vote Hillary in ’16 since the evil frakkers in the Dem leadership stole the nomination from HRC in 08.

Uber-Snob Sally Quinn suggests using Hillary to save Obama in ’12 – heaven forefend!

Sally, Sally, Sally. As a Tea Party Patriot, recovering Democrat and Hillraiser let me enlighten you. We will never, ever, ever support Hillary lowering herself to run as VEEP with Obama in ’12.

And to think this comes from Sally Quinn, a woman who spent soo many years bashing Hill and Bill. Talk about the ‘audacity’ of a dope. From the outset of the Clinton Administration, Quinn felt Hillary’s lack of cocktail parties at the WH set her off as a Hillbilly. The Obama Versailles-like weekly events were ever so much more Sally’s style (nevermind how inappropriate they were in this economy).

But look, Obama is tanking in the polls! He is clearly over his head and looking ever more likely to lose in ’12.
