AZ Medical Marijuana Proposition 203 Passes

Update: Prop 203 has passed. All hail the AZ voters! Folks who think this will turn AZ into Cali should really read the Proposition. It was incredibly well written with thoughtful, strong limits to avoid many issues found in CA and CO.

...The final vote also confirmed that Arizona voters did approve a law allowing patients with a recommendation from their doctors to purchase up to 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana every two weeks from non-profit dispensaries. Supporters outnumbered foes by about 4,300 votes.

About Prop 203:

…The Arizona measure will allow patients with diseases including cancer, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C and any other “chronic or debilitating” disease that meets guidelines to buy 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana every two weeks or grow plants.

The patients must get a recommendation from their doctor and register with the Arizona Department of Health Services. The law allows for no more than 124 marijuana dispensaries in the state. After ballots are canvassed Nov. 29, the state has 120 days before the law goes into effect.

Backers of Proposition 203 have argued that thousands of patients faced “a terrible choice” of suffering with a serious or even terminal illness or going to the criminal market for pot. They collected more than 252,000 signatures to put the measure on the ballot _ nearly 100,000 more than required….

…Arizona voters overwhelmingly approved a medical marijuana law in 1996 and 1998, but it never went into effect because of problems with its wording.

…Saturday’s final count was 841,346 in favor of the measure and 837,005 opposed….

‘Twas the Night before Elections’

40 days, the final push begins now :0>

Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

‘On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DON’T WANT SOCIALISM
GET your butt OUT THERE AND VOTE!!!!!!!!

I think I love you~ Gov. Chris Christie schools Whitman heckler at Rally

My Christie Crush is so bad now I hear the Partridge Family, I think I love you, whenever I see one of these Christie videos. ..

TheCorner:

…Christie was concluding a town hall meeting with Whitman when an angry audience member criticized her for not taking questions.

“What are you hiding?” shouted Ed Buck, in jeans and a light shirt in the front row of the 400-person event. “You’re looking like Arnold in a dress,” he said in a reference to outgoing California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Before Whitman could respond, Christie stepped down from the stage and got in Buck’s face.

“Hey, listen. You know what. You want to yell, yell at me,” Christie said, shutting down Buck as Christie’s bodyguards calmly but quickly approached the two men. “It’s people who raise their voices and yell and scream like you who are dividing this country. We’re here to bring this country together.”

Update: PPP: Rubio has 32 point primary lead over Crist; Our Charlie Crist numbers tomorrow will be ‘absolutely brutal’

Update: WOW! PPP wasn’t kidding, Sorry Charlie! Expect him to run as an Indy or Dem, I have long suspected he and O had a ‘gentlemans’ agreement that he not push for a revote in the Dem primaries for FL..frakkers…

…Rubio now leads Crist 60-28, including a staggering 71-17 lead with conservatives. Crist has a 49-36 advantage with party moderates, but they account for just 31% of likely primary voters compared to 65% who describe themselves as conservative….

Marco baby….

NRO:

From the PPP blog. I would add emphasis, but the whole thing could be in bold:

We are going to have absolutely brutal numbers out on Charlie Crist tomorrow.

Here’s a little preview: among Republican primary voters 19% would like to see him as Governor a year from now, 14% want him in the Senate, and 56% want him out of elected office.

If there is any path to his winning office in Florida again- and there may not be- it’s as something other than a Republican.

Marco on the health care bills in the House and Senate:

Health-Care Proposal & Process Are Fundamentally Flawed.

Marco Rubio at The Corner:

(…) How many bipartisan, Massachusetts-like pushbacks is it going to take for President Obama to understand the American people want to reform health care without changing and abandoning all the things that have made our system great?

How many town halls, tea parties and elections will it take for the American people to finally convey to Washington that we need to scrap this flawed proposal and process, and start anew on step-by-step reforms?

I join the American people in opposing this proposal on policy grounds as well as the procedural approach being considered to ram it through.

If President Obama and congressional Democrats go down the road of reconciliation, they will leave no doubt in the American people’s minds that Washington is broken and 2008’s promise of “Change” was little more than a campaign slogan that should not have been believed in the first place.

The health-care proposal is a deeply flawed plan that should be scrapped entirely in favor of a truly bipartisan approach that pursues step-by-step reforms….

MiM- Marco Rubio is the first conservative we have given money to as recovering Dems. Yeah he is that good, he makes me want to be fiscally responsible, ooooh! Marco-Marco-Marco- GOP needs to get that calendar together cough, cough..
