WH plan: use Lame Duck Session to push cap and trade through conference cmte….

Update: Obama is trying to lure Scott Brown to his Cap and Trade agenda. Say No Scott! Say No!

Scott Brown to meet w/ Pres. Obama today on energy/climate legislation – http://is.gd/cRtKH

No. Just say NO to ANY and ALL job killing measures in this economy.

Politico:

EXCLUSIVE: Phil Schiliro, the White House congressional liaison, has told the Senate to aim to take up an energy bill the week of July 12, after the July 4 break (and after the scheduled final passage of Wall Street reform). Kagan confirmation will follow, ahead of the summer break, scheduled to begin Aug. 9.

The plan is to conference the new Senate bill with the already-passed House bill IN A LAME-DUCK SESSION AFTER THE ELECTION, so House members don’t have to take another tough vote ahead of midterms.

A White House aide has the official word: “President Obama reiterated his call for comprehensive energy and climate legislation to break our dependence on oil and fossil fuels. In the coming weeks he will be reaching out to Senators on both sides of the aisle to chart a path forward. A number of proposals have been put forward from Members on both sides of the aisle. We’re open to good ideas from all sources, and will be working with Senators on a comprehensive proposal. The tragedy in the Gulf underscores the need to move quickly, and the President is committed to finding the votes for comprehensive energy legislation this year.”

BP Oil Spill and Team Obama

Karl Rove discusses the Epic Fail of Obama during this crisis on Greta last night:

This is what is freaking out the Democrats:

Two record-low three-day job approval ratings in the past week helped Obama's weekly average tie the lowest of his presidency. Gallup reported a 44% approval rating last Thursday and again on Saturday. Prior to last week, the lowest three-day approval figure for Obama in Gallup Daily tracking had been 45%, a percentage that has now been reached seven times since the start of April.

Jake Tapper summarizes the many positions of Team Obama to date, none of which is getting the job done:

MM has a list of numbers to reach the GOP 8 who voted Aye

Update 2: Mitchell D-AZ voted no I am glad to say. Roll Call of the vote here. Bishop of NY, of the videos with outraged constituents at his town hall this week, voted Yes. And cancelled his planned townhalls BTW..chicken. Bock Bock Bwack..

Update: MM via HA the GOP who voted Aye on this SmootHawley Redux of an economy killer as we are in a long bottom of a recession, utterly indefensible to vote for this thing in this economy:

Update: Inhofe predicts cap and trade will die in the Senate, which is probably true. I wonder if that made the bitter pill easier to swallow for those eight Republicans.

Update: The boss has the names:

Bono Mack
Castle
Kirk
Lance
LoBiondo
McHugh
Reichert
Smith (NJ)

The morons cheered when they got the vote, Mike Spence was talking with Levin when the board hit the number…

TOTUS said in ABCinformercial that Americans are choosing between the Devil they know and the Devil they dont know on health care.. I think this vote just gave us a clear idea of who the devilish Congress Critters are who need to be voted out at the earliest opportunity…

It is DOA in the Senate, and as Americans see what these “moderate” Dems and 7(?)GOP voted for. Just the imposition of the California building codes o the entire nation is a death blow to construction jobs. And the bill also contains a provision that ANY HOME being sold or resold must pass an “energy efficiency inspection” old windows wont cut it, also prohibits repairing old appliances that dont meet the new code…

Well I predict an awesome tide of pixxed off American voters in 2010 who will remember what these yahoos just trie to do, kill our economy and the American standard of living.

219-212, 8 GOPs voted Yes Per Levin

Here is John Boehner, Minority Leader, best I’ve ever seen him:
