As oil gushes, NOKO sinks ships, Iran ignores us and Euro zone economies collapse, Dems keep spending and Obama approval index hits new lows…

…and that’s a feature, not a bug…everyone can see the EPIC fail..Rasmussen:

…Most Americans have “come to believe that the political system is broken, that most politicians are corrupt, and that neither major political party has the answers,” observes Scott Rasmussen. Just 27% believe Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to the economy and 41% say that a group of people randomly selected from the phone book would do a better job than the current Congress. In his new book, Scott adds, “Some of us are ready to give up and some of us are ready to scream a little louder. But all of us believe we can do better.”…

Hillary’s poll numbers up: Rise, Hillary, Rise

Yay

Politico:

A new poll of avid news watchers shows that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a much higher approval rating than the man she once campaigned against and now works for, President Barack Obama.

In the poll of 800 registered voters who are self-identified “news watchers,” Clinton had a 75 percent approval rating and a 21 percent disapproval rating overall. Obama, in contrast, had a 51 percent approval and a 45 percent disapproval rating….

Clarus president Ron Faucheux said one reason for Clinton’s high poll numbers is her high approval among Republicans – numbers he said position her well to run for president again in the future, if she chooses.

Clinton had 96 percent approval among Democrats, a healthy 57 percent approval among Republicans, and 65 percent approval among Independents. Obama was nearly as popular among Democrats – 93 percent – but his numbers among Republicans and Independents fell off dramatically, at 19 percent and 33 percent respectively.

…“Republicans may see her as being more hawkish than other Democrats on foreign policy issues,” said Faucheux. “It may be a way for them to bolster that position within the administration.” Asked about any future Clinton presidential bid, he said, “She’s in good shape now.”….

‘Unprecedented’: Obama approval lowest December rating EVAH! for 1st year POTUS…

Finally something we can all agree truly is unprecedented! But don’t worry Congress Critters (who planned on riding coattails in ’10), he gives himself a B+.

USAToday on Gallup:

...The latest survey, taken Friday through Sunday, puts the president’s approval at 49%-46%. That is Obama’s narrowest margin of the year, with his approval matching his low point in early October and his disapproval matching his high point later that month.

In comparison to the approval ratings for modern elected presidents in December of their first year in office, Obama’s standing is the worst, though he’s close to Ronald Reagan. In December 1981, Reagan’s approval rating was also 49%, though his disapproval rating was a bit lower, 41%.

Gallup Poll ratings for the others: George W. Bush was at 86%, in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks; John Kennedy at 77%; the elder George Bush at 71%; Dwight Eisenhower at 69%; Richard Nixon at 59%; Jimmy Carter at 57%; and Bill Clinton at 54%….

TOTUS to interrupt new Fall Season with yet another ‘greatest speech evah’; this time a ‘Joint Session of Congress’ no less…

Oh good grief. I have PLANS for the new Fall Premieres can’t they just STOP WITH THE SPENDING and the LECTURING ALREADY. Oy gavault! Well at least it isn’t Thursday when The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural premiere. Is he bumping that So You Think You Can Dance show? Don’t a lot of people watch that show? Imagine tuning in for that and getting a ‘greater good’ lecture on healthcare while being forced to watch the Critters do their whole: stand- sit- clap- jump up applaud -frown -stay seated- cross arms- clap more- fawn at TOTUS- and if Nancy clean your teeth with your tongue, instead of dancing? Ugh!

Politico:

President Barack Obama will address a joint session of Congress on health care reform in prime time on Wednesday, Sept. 9, a senior official tells POLITICO. Obama will receive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the White House the day before for a previously scheduled sit-down.

The last time a president addressed a joint session of Congress that wasn’t a State of the Union, or the traditional first address by a new president, was Sept. 20, 2001, when President George W. Bush spoke on the war on terrorism following the 9/11 attacks.

Obama plans to give lawmakers a more specific prescription for health care legislation than he has in the past, aides said….

Personally I find it disgusting that he is using something reserved for SOTU or EMERGENCIES like following 9/11 to SELL US on a plan we don’t want. Really abouses the power to call a Joint Session for a speech IMO.

Enough already.

Update: I am hoist by my petard (again). Big Dagw did this? for shame Big Dawg! I was in my 20s then and was probably out dancing with the girlz..Via AceHQ:

The decision to hold such an address is rare. The only times in recent history that a U.S. president delivered a non-“State of the Union” address before a joint session of Congress was in September 2001, when President George W. Bush addressed the nation after the Sept. 11 attacks, and in September 1993, when President Bill Clinton used the forum to push his health care reform package.

Well we see how well that worked out for THAT Congress of Dems dont we? What happened to Team TOTUS’ much lauded ‘Anything But Clinton’ method, hmmmmnnn? heh. frakkers.

If this RCP article is correct it was supporting Big Dawg TOO MUCH against their districts leanings that cost Dems Congress in 94. If that is so, TOTUS doing a Joint Session to fanagle them to vote for his bill will lose him the majority in 2010 in the House. Well alrighty then! Let’s place our bets and see how it unfolds. I say they lose the House in 2010 no matter what they do b/c I think their economic programs will give us a double dip before that election….

Rasmussen Poll: Americans agree with Rick Santelli on housing, only 38% support Obama Housing Plan….Obama ratings fall..41% disapprove of his performance….

YEAH WE AGREE WITH RICK DAMMIT! LET US ALL REFI IF ANYONE GETS A BREAK!!! ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL! This is EXCELLENT to have out there BEFORE they release the Eligibility Details for the plan..NO MEANS TESTING!!!! Don’t divide America against itself! Everyone get a fair shake here!!!! THIS IS AMERICA!! We believe in America and our well-regulated, fair and free markets WOOHOO!

Rasmussen:

Fifty percent (50%) of voters give President Obama positive grades for handling the economy, but just 38% favor providing mortgage subsidies to financially troubled homeowners

Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 38% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Twenty-eight percent (28%) Strongly Disapprove to give Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +10

Overall, 57% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far while 41% disapprove. This marks the President’s lowest overall rating to date and only the third time his ratings have dipped below 60% since taking office. It remains to be seen whether this modest decline represents lasting change or is merely statistical noise.
