Update: Video added: Lyin Eyes, Wilson had it right: TOTUS plans amnesty…

Update: Video added, courtesy of HotAir:

So we have amended the health care bill to verify citizenship and now TOTUS is planning a giant amnesty to cover everyone anyway. Ed at HotAir has the scoop, courtesy of Stephen Dinnan of the Washington Times:

No, they’re not going to beef up enforcement or require identification before receiving subsidies and services.  They’re just going to offer amnesty so that no one’s illegal anymore:

President Obama said this week that his health care plan won’t cover illegal immigrants, but argued that’s all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage.

He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered – a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants.

One more time he is undoing all the welfare reforms Big Dawg put in:

“Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don’t simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken,” Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “That’s why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else.

Video Updates: In a New York Minute: A ‘Coup D’Etat’ in NYS Senate: GOP takes control….

Update 2 from NYPost:

…”It’s a great day for the state of New York,” said B. Thomas Golisano, the Rochester billionaire, in a news conference with Libous, Skelos and Monserrate. Golisano, who has run unsuccessfully for governor three times, has spent millions to support candidates he feels will reform Albany to become more democratic and supportive of business.

The move was secretly in the works for more than five weeks, said a Republican with knowledge of the plan. Golisano was a major player in creating the coalition, said the Republican, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak for the GOP senators.

New York’s government is run by the near absolute control of the majority party and its top leaders. Monday’s action, if it holds, would create the first coalition in power for at least 50 years….

Courtesy of NYSSenate2009:

When Senate Democrats campaigned last fall, they promised change and reform. Unfortunately the leadership they elected broke their promises, reneged on their commitments made to 19 million New Yorkers and to every member of the Senate, and calcified Albany dysfunction instead of ending it. Today, real change and real reform begins.

A new bipartisan, coalition elected today has delivered on the promises for reform that the Senate Democrat leadership failed to keep. The new rules adopted today will create a more open, bipartisan, transparent and member-driven body that will take dramatic new steps to end Albany dysfunction.

Breaking Update 5: Lewis keeps CEO/President role, Massey elected Chairman as roles split by shareholders…Too many votes to count..Market Movers Wednesday: Bank of America Shareholder Meeting…FED meeting day 2…

Breaking Update 5:- 5:40pm EST: Bloomberg: BofA announces Walter Massey elected as Chairman to replace Lewis;they have split the CEO Chairman roles…Lewis re elected as President/CEO ,…..I think it will be much harder for Treasury to oust Lewis now, the shareholders have acted and kept him as CEO, this loss of Chair ironically may be the thing that saves his job in the end..it would look like the Big Brother trampling shareholders that it is if they try to oust him now…I think this is good for Lewis, and good for the company in that we keep Lewis in this maelstrom of government intervention, Lewis wont get pushed around by Treasury as easily again as he was rolled by Paulson and Bernanke….

Andy Stern of SEIU will be pixxed he didnt get Lewis’ head, heh

Update 4: Hugh McColl says he wants Lewis to stay as CEO and Chariman and Finger who is recommending split also told McColl to merge with AIG when Hugh was CEO…heh….

Breaking Update 3:  – 1:22pm EST- CNBC Mary Thompson reporting- “Person ‘close to’ BofA reporting all 18 BofA board members re elected by comfortable margin”…no further word on Lewis Chairman role yet…

Breaking Update 2- 1:07pm EST: BofA reports it cannot report complete results of shareholder votes today at now..because of the volume of votes. CNBC reporting coming into the meeting BofA was reporting the vote on the proposal to split the CEO Chairman roles was too close to call…they will announce results in Press Release..no word when…
