True Blood Season 3: Will Sookie discover Bill’s true motives for coming to Bon Temps?
Ohhh I have been wondering about this! If Alan Ball wants to further the Eric/Sookie storyline, I hope he reveals what Charlaine Harris gave us in the books about Bill’s motivations for coming to Bon Temps! If he doesn’t, Sookie may come across as fickle, which is totally out of her character.
(I know a LOT of people who were pixxed that Starbuck married Anders the morning after her thing with Apollo, and that is thanks to RDM who edited out a key scene in which she talks to Tigh) In character driven, fan based shows it is never good to alienate your viewers from your protagonist (unless you’re Rob Zombie who seems to enjoy it)
EW has some answers, here is a highlight courtesy of SciFiWire:
Love it or hate it, the season finale of HBO’s True Blood took Sookie and Bill’s relationship to a new level.
But series creator Alan Ball may be taking a page from Charlaine Harris’ original Sookie Stackhouse books to throw a stake-sized wrench into their impending nuptials, according to Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello (spoilers ahead!):
Ball isn’t ruling out incorporating a major (and controversial) plot point from the books that, up to now, has only been hinted at in the series (spoiler alert):

Update: CNBC reports Lewis to step down by end of year; Cuomo/BofA Smackdown: It’s On! (again)
Update 09/30: Charlie Gasparino is reporting that Ken Lewis has been pushed out (the stmt says he stepped down but I call BS)!! This is HUGE! WOTS was he had TOTAL BACKING OF THE BOARD! Recall BofA is centred in Charlotte, NC far from the Wall St shenanigans but Lewis got sucked into the ‘eeeevil banker’ canard PLUS the added bonus of ‘hide the bonuses’ with Thain. I for one would never want Andy Cuomo on my trail if I had a blessed thing to hide!
Vodpod videos no longer available.
(Reminder FD- MiM are shareholders in both BofA and were MER shareholders as well pre merger)
Bank of America’s CEO Ken Lewis, the embattled head of the nation’s biggest bank, told the board he plans to step down by the end of the year.
Lewis wasn’t asked to step down and the decision was not the result of any regulatory action, sources told CNBC. No successor has been named yet….

Update: Baucus healthcare bill released: Jay Rockefeller (D-WVA) acknowledges increased company costs are passed to consumers…
Update: Baucus Bill – ‘Chairman’s Mark’ released, PDF here courtesy of WSJ
…The measure would create a new national insurance exchange, where individuals and small businesses can purchase insurance. Individuals would be required to purchase insurance, but those at the lower end of the income ladder would receive federal tax subsidies to defray the cost. (Read the full text of the Baucus plan.)…
Of course, he is talking about the coal miners and their self funded benefit plans being INCLUDED in the GIANT TAX that Baucus wants to lay onto ‘Cadillac’ health care plans (recall months ago they tried to float a tax with a union ‘waiver’ -as IF!) if Baucus would give us the TAX CREDIT that Mac floated in the campaign to accompany the giant tax we would all be fine with it, but nooooooooo…
Now if Jay will LISTEN TO HIS OWN WORDS, he will understand why NO TAX INCREASES are a good idea in a recession!
(…)Referring to Baucus, Rockefeller said, “He should understand that (his proposal) means that virtually every single coal miner is going to have a big, big tax put on them because the tax will be put on the company and the company will immediately pass it down and lower benefits because they are self insured, most of them, because they are larger. They will pass it down, lower benefits, and probably this will mean higher premiums for coal miners who are getting very good health care benefits for a very good reason. That is, like steelworkers and others, they are doing about the most dangerous job that can be done in America.”
“So that’s not really a smart idea,” Rockefeller continued. “In fact, it’s a very dangerous idea, and I’m not even sure the coal miners in West Virginia are aware that this is what is waiting if this bill passes.”
Rockefeller made his comments on a conference call with reporters which was sponsored by the liberal Campaign for America’s Future(…)
WWE’s Linda McMahon running against Chris Dodd for CT Senate seat…
Should be fun! Dodd is IMO a real tool, (of the banking industry).

Linda McMahon, the chief executive officer of the World Wrestling Entertainment, is adding a brand new wrinkle into the Connecticut Senate race. She announced her campaign today and is pledging to spend her fortune on the race.
“I have spent the past 30 years growing what began as a 13-employee small business into a publicly traded, global entertainment company that now provides over 500 jobs here in Connecticut,” McMahon said in a statement. “I understand what it takes to balance a budget, create jobs and grow the economy.”
McMahon said she won’t be accepting PAC money or individual donations of more than $100, meaning her campaign will be predominantly self-financed..
She is bringing in big guns to run the campaign:
…In Connecticut, Republicans have to win a critical 15 percent threshold at a Republican convention filled with GOP activists before they can move onto the primary ballot — and that could be challenging for an outsider like McMahon to accomplish.
But as Chris Cillizza notes in today’s Fix, McMahon has also brought on board an A-team of Republican consultants – with Scott Howell and Associates handling media and former NRSC political director Mike Slanker serving as the general consultant. Former NRCC press secretary Ed Patru will be handling the same role with her campaign…
