Interview courtesy of djtomdog : We met Carrie Preston, aka “Arlene Fowler” from HBO’s “True Blood”, at the Mondrian Hotel on the Sunset Strip, where several fashion and cosmetic companies set up shop for Emmy-bound performers.
Carrie told us she was going to wear Mako Takada at Sunday’s ceremony with hopes that her husband, Michael Emerson from ABC’s “Lost”, would win an Emmy for his third nomination as “Ben”.
We also heard about how tough some of the shooting for the most recent season of “True Blood” was as well as what a great ensemble the cast is.

Hex now airing on Chiller…
The great BBC series Hex is now airing on Chiller:
Labeled by some as a British Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hex tells the tale of boarding school student Cassie Hughes (Christina Cole) and her lesbian roommate, Thelma (Jemima Rooper). One day, Cassie happens upon ancient voodoo artifacts that lead to a surprising discovery: she’s a witch. This attracts the attention of a fallen angel named Azazeal (Michael Fassbender), whose goal is to free his people, the Nephilim, by bearing a son.

It seems that a highly-anticipated sci-fi TV movie won’t be airing in 2009 after all. Air Lock Alpha is reporting that the two-hour TV film Battlestar Galactica: The Plan won’t be airing in 2009 on the SyFy Channel.
It wasn’t clear why the move was made, but a possible suggestion was that the movie was bumped in order to maximize DVD sales. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan is still set for a DVD and Blu-ray release on October 27…

To announce the big news, Johnny Depp sailed onstage upon a pirate ship at the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday to announce the upcoming fourth installment of the Disney franchise
Depp, dressed as his pirate alter-ego, Capt. Jack Sparrow, announced the news to about 5,000 fans at the D23 Expo.
Depp will reprise his role in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, scheduled to hit theaters in summer of 2011.
When is an insurance mandate not a tax? When Obama says so!
On ABC’s “This Week,” George Stephanopoulos has a pretty testy exchange with Obama over whether the individual mandate is a tax increase. The president insists it is not.
Obama: “For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore than the fact that right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. … George, you — you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase.”
Stephanopoulos: “I don’t think I’m making it up. Merriam Webster’s Dictionary: Tax — ‘a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes.'”
Obama: “George, the fact that you looked up Merriam’s Dictionary, the definition of tax increase, indicates to me that you’re stretching a little bit right now. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone to the
dictionary to check on the definition”Stephanopoulos: “But you reject that it’s a tax increase?”
Obama: “I absolutely reject that notion.”
