‘Extract’ Trailer 2: From the creator of Office Space…

They had me at ‘Office Space’ creator, but Gene Simmons looks hilarious as ambulance chasing lawyer Joe Adler, haven’t been this jazzed about seeing a comedy forevah….

Courtesy of HollywoodStreams:

To the outside eye, Joel Reynold seems to have everything. After all, being the owner of a business he built from the ground up – with its patented brand of culinary extracts – should make the Extract King a happy man.

However, if Joel hasnt reached his front door by 8 oclock, hell find his wife, Suzie cinching up her sweatpants and about as interested in him as he is in her mastery of supermarket coupon design.

Sexually frustrated, Joel confides in his best pal, Dean, a barkeep and soon finds himself wrapped up in a convoluted scheme to make Suzie cheat on him first with a dim-witted gigolo thereby allowing him to pursue beautiful new employee Cindy with a clear conscience. Unbeknownst to Joel, the object of his affections is a con artist/sociopath – just one step away from having her parole revoked.

Meanwhile, Joel and his second-in-command, Brian have entered negotiations for a buyout of Reynold Extracts by General Mills. All they need to do is keep things tidy, quiet and moving while waiting for the final offer. Of course, this fails to take into account the employees on the factory floor….

Update: Details on the deal. I am soo excited, MiM wolds are colliding, in a fantastic way!

Walt Disney CEO and president Robert Iger told CNBC Monday that Disney’s deal to buy Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion in cash and stock was good for both companies.

“Disney’s global reach can enhance what Marvel is already doing,” said Iger. “It was the perfect opportunity for Disney to buy an attractive property. It was a good price for them and us.”Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of 5,000 Marvel characters. Many of them, including favorites such as the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, were co-created by the comic book legend Stan Lee.

Disney said Marvel shareholders will receive $30 per share in cash, plus 0.745 Disney shares for every Marvel share they own. That values each Marvel share at $50 based on Friday’s closing stock prices…

ACORN counter-rallies: where Freedom of Speech goes to die….

Unreal. The new M.O. seems to be to disrupt OUR rallies, and prevent our voices from being heard at all at THEIR rallies.

Here an Obamabot harasses the patriots in NY and talks down to a WWII vet, then goes nutso on other patriots, like they always do when they have no facts, they resort to ad hominem attacks:

First they send someone into  a Tucson Tea Party meeting to disrupt, and true to form he gets violent.

More ACORN shenanigans: Then they stop any other voices from being heard at  their union sponsored Pro Obamacare rallies, where they are suddenly concerned about Private Property Rights, HA! The same folks who are breaking and entering foreclosed homes don’t want private property rights infringed? BWAAAHAAA!!!

The franchise is dead. Long live the franchise!! Weinstein Co. to bring Halloween to 3D in 2010…

Halloween montage created by hitmanyr2kHQ

Well! I am SOOOOOOOO glad Rob Zombie did not manage to kill the franchise. It should NOT have to go out with the dreck that is the H2 remake as its last hurrah.

I have read in several places that the Weinstein Co. is having some financial issues. I think ‘Halloween’ may have the lure of the Kavorka! No seriously though I guess that is why they are turning to tried and true box office like Scream and Halloween. Whatever it takes to let the franchise recover from being ‘Zombied’, I am all for it!

SciFiWire:

Further establishing a trend for 3-D genre pictures of a kind not seen since the 1950s, Weinstein Co. co-Chairman Bob Weinstein has announced that the next movie in the rebooted Halloween franchise will be Halloween 3D, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Rob Zombie, the director of the recent Halloween and this past weekend’s strong opener Halloween II, is currently developing a second remake of The Blob and will not be attached.

Okay good news is Zombie is not involved, bad news is Zombie is going after another classic the Blob, Why? Why you do this to me Demme Zombie? The Devil’s Rejects, although not my kind of film, was clearly what he wants to do, so why keep reworking old horror/scifi and pixxing people off? Ahh maybe THAT is why, he LIKES to pixx people off and maybe doesnt get enough juice from the originals? Nah, more likely it is that dopey producers will not underwrite anything without it being YARM today….

Recall the Kevin Dillon The Blob YARM in the 80s? I mean when you are YARMING YARM you really are scraping the bottom of the barrel creatively aren’t you?

True Blood: Inside scoop from Pam (Kristin Bauer)…

Awesome!!!!!pam-red-sequin-outfit

NYPost:

…according to Kristin Bauer, Pam’s coming back from a brief on-screen hiatus with a bang! Or more specifically with bangs because she is totally eighties’d out this Sunday! Her return also signals the resurgence of the Lafayette/V storyline that has vexed many fans and caught Bill’s eye.

But as the show hurtles toward its season finale (on Sept 13), Kristin has some intriguing details about what fans can expect not only in the last two episodes, but on the DVD special features. It turns out there’s a lot more to Pam than meets the eye!

PopWrap: Where’d Pam go?!?
Kristin Bauer: I know, but she’s back on Sunday! And her outfit will definitely make up for the absence. It’s the most hilarious, incredible thing I’ve ever seen! Audrey Fisher [“TB’s” costumer designer] had it made special and there are just so many sequins. It’s totally 80s.

PW: Does she reappear because Eric’s back from Dallas?
Kristin: Yeah, she’s reconnecting with Eric, back at his side, being a henchwoman. She’s been keeping Fangtasia running.

PW: Do you think she’s a better or worse boss than Eric?
Kristin: Worse, I think. I just go back to that scene where she asks, “Can I kick him?” Pam just doesn’t really think of the big picture. I think out of everybody, she loves being a vampire the most.

PW: I love Pam and Eric’s relationship on the show. Have you guys talked about their history together?
Kristin: It’s funny, Alexander [Skarsgård] and I would joke that the first 100 years between them were really passionate … but it’s faded to a friendship over time. Truthfully, we really didn’t know, but I just recorded the special features for the season two Blu-ray DVD and it’s like 34 pages of Pam talking about everyone in town. PW: Kind like the Lafayette videos on the season one DVD?
Kristin: Exactly. It turned out to be incredibly insightful because I got all my questions answered. She was turned by Eric 100 years ago but released, so she’s no longer bound to him but she’s so in love and couldn’t be more loyal. Whatever he says, she will do.

PW: What else did you learn about Pam from recording the videos?
Kristin: Before being turned she was living with her wealthy and very provincial parents. She says, “Small men were lining up for me to be auctioned off to, and then this big viking showed up and split my world apart … and Eric likes to joke that my legs did too.”

PW: That’s amazing — it’s nice to learn more about “True Blood’s” periphery characters.

Update: ‘Audit the Fed’ Bill out of Committee…

Update: The WSJ has a great  Q/A on the legislation to audit the Fed here

Break the Matrix and Ron Paul will be totally psyched. I know we need to crack the opaque black box that is the lack of transparency of the Fed in many ways but I am also verrrry worried about what this will do to the financial markets…I do NOT want the TOTUS or the TREZ to get control of the Fed…Alexander Hamilton where are you?!
